Editing Begins

When we finished our first scenes of the film we began to edit. We played around with the editing on Adobe Premiere Element. We decided to use a lot of fading in and plyed aorund with the colour for the shots to portray what the memories and the present times are in the film. We also used a zoom in shot when the beat of the song dropped.

This is a shot of the couple being intimate and passionate. We have changed the colour of the shot as brighter to show the happier times the two have had together.

Magazine Advertisment

Aswell as creating a digipak, we needed to make a magazine advertisment for our choosen song. We needed to research into existing magazine adverts to discover the conventions and gain some inspiration for our own adverts.

These adverts are for artists albums, singles and digipaks. The photographs for the adverts are almost always identical to the artists digipak to build a strong campaign to advetise for the target audience and make it recognisable. High quality photos are a very popular choice to give the advert a professinal look. Also striking and bold fonts are used to make it eye catching and stand out to the audicene. The fonts are influeneced by the artists and the genre of music. Record labels logos, websites and quotes from music reviews can also be included also release and tour dates can be featured.

The photos for the Eight Legs and Bloc Party adverts are interesting as they are not normal pictures and you cannot really see what the story behind the pictures are.

Black backgrounds for adverts are very bold, eye catching and effective as it enhances the colours f the image over the top. The black background adverts seem to link with the urban and grime nature. The fonts seem to be simple but yet stand out against the black so they are easy to read.

The above adverts are alot more complex than the previous ones. The flashy and lively fonts and pictures make the adverts bold and impressive.

All of these adverts aims are to gain recognision and to draw the audiences attention in to increase sale profits, gain more fans and promote the brand for the artists.

Problems with filming

The main problem me and Katie had whilst filming was that we wernt able to use our original actors so we had to choose two new ones. This change delayed our filming quite a bit but we were able to get back on track. We changed to Katie and her boyfriend as we knew this would be more reliable and we would be able to film iffeciently.
When we started to film, we were both unsure what to film and how to start the filming which was time consuming. However, once we started the ideas were rolling and we managed to think of many locations, costumes, props and what the actors needed to do.
Another problem with our filming was the extreme weather conditions as I could not travel to Katie's house with the amount of snow. However, in this time we were able to take seperate location shots and decide what would lookgood for our final film. This lack of filming meant that we would have to work efficiently and fast in the future and film in big bulks. Another problem with the weather was the dark. On the third day of filming we filmed afer school so we were not able to film outside so all of the filming took place indoors.
One day that we did filming, our actor Matt was ill so this was also time consuming as he was late. This was time consuming but in the time he was late, I filmed single shots of Katie on her own so it wasnt too bad.

Filming Begins

Due to weather conditions and having to change our actors our filming was slightly delayed but when the weather cleared up and we found new actors we soon begun filming straight after. The first scenes that we filmed were of Katie and Matt sitting on the bench, seperately and together, to show how they missed eachother. The next scene we filmed was of Katie and Matt together in Katies living room and her bedroom where they were together in happier times which is very realistic for a young couple as it included them kssing and watching TV together. Also in the bedroom, we filmed an argument scene but using different outfits and moving props around to make it seem like it was on a different day. This shows how much detail we put into our filming.
